Thank You!

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you who were able to help out by donating food items and toys in support of Steinbach Community Christmas (our community food bank) and their Christmas Hamper program. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated!

Online Registration for Kindergarten

Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year will open January 2022. To be eligible, children must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2022. The registration process will take place online at If you do not have access to the internet, please visit the school office and we can assist you in completing the registration on a school computer.

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to register their children soon after registration opens. Early registration will assist us in preparation and planning for the upcoming school year. Registering prior to March 1, 2022, will ensure there is sufficient time for school appointments and provide parents/guardians with the opportunity to participate in Kindergarten orientation activities. Visit for registration instructions.

Cold Weather Reminders

Winter is here...

Students need to be dressed and ready to play outside. The morning and afternoon activity breaks are 25 minutes each. The actual time that the children are really outside depends on how quickly they are able to bundle up. They look forward to this time of socializing and playing. Good boots, mittens, and a hat - added to ski pants and parka - will make all the difference between a child enjoying the outdoors or tolerating it.

The following guideline will be used for deciding when indoor recess should occur:

  • -30 degrees Celsius (with wind chill) - indoors for all recess
  • -25 to -30 Celsius (with a wind chill) partial recess indoors

In the case of multiple indoor recesses due to cold weather, teachers may choose to take their class outside for 5-10 minute break if needed. At these times, the class will be very closely supervised.
