Adding
Adding: Adding integers with like signs either if it's positive or negative so imagine this is the problem is 8+5 so you get one positive and one positive and that equals one positive, so it's 8+5 = 13. An other example: 2+9= 11. Adding with different signs have different rules, the rules are that if they are not alike they will be subtracted, so you get one positive and one negative and that equals subtraction. Let's imagine that the problems is 6+(-3) so you get the positive and the negative and subtract so 6-3 = 3 and the greatest sign is positive so the answer is positive 3. An other example: 8+(-9)= -1.
Subtracting
Subtracting: Subtracting with like signs is almost the same as adding just that in an other way let’s say it's -8-6 so you get a negative and a negative that that equals and that is positive, so now it is 8+6 and that is 14. Subtracting with different signs is almost as adding with different signs but different. So let's say that the problem they are asking you to solve is 4-(-8) so its negative and negative equals positive so since they are different they need to subtract and that is -12. Another example is 4-(-20) = -24.
Multiply
Multiply:
check the signs.
If it is negative times positive the answer will be negative
If you have both negative times negative the answer will be positive.
And if it is both positive the answer will be also positive.
(M)examples- -
2*3=-6 because you have a negative there.
-2*-4=8 because you have 2 negatives.
3*3=9 because you have the same signs and they are both positive.
Multypling
Multiply:
check the signs.
Divide
Dividing:
Check the signs
Then if it is negative divided by a positive the answer will be negative.
If it is both negative the answer will be positive.
If both are positive ust divide normal.
Then when you have check the signs then just ignore it and place the correct sign at the end.
(D)examples-
-8/4=-2 in this case is can also be because the bigger number has the sign or also because it has a negative sign there.
-16/-8= 2 because they are both negative
50/2= 25 because it has the same signs are the both of the numbers are positive.
