CHAPLAIN'S CHATTER: THOUGHTS, REFLECTIONS AND MUSINGS FROM THE CATHOLIC CHAPLAIN
Did you know that in less than 6 days Pope Francis will make his fist visit to the United States? After visiting Cuba, the pope will travel to Washington DC, New York City and Philadelphia. This will surely be an exciting and historic trip!
Our Catholic community will be hosting a number of events on campus that coincide with Pope Francis's schedule.
On Thursday, 9/24, Pope Francis will address a joint session of Congress at 9:15AM. We will be showing the address live in Linehan Chapel
On Friday, 9/25, Pope Francis will address the United Nations General Assembly in NYC. We will be showing the address live in GAC 151.
On Sunday, 9/27, Pope Francis will celebrate an open air Mass in Philadelphia at 4:00PM. During this time we will have a "Pope Party" in GAC 151. We will have a live stream of the Papal Mass, following by a guided discussion led by our very own Fr. Matthew Temple. Fr. Matt will reflect on Pope Francis and his encyclical on the Environment, Laudato Si'. the first 40 to attend will get a free Pope Francis t-shirt! There may also be a life-size Pope Francis cutout so you can take your very own papal selfie!
All are welcome to join any of these events as our Nazareth Catholic Community celebrates the 2015 Apostolic Journey Of Pope Francis To The United States Of America!
