Message from Dr. King Davis

Sheldon ISD staff,

Everyday, I am grateful for your hard work. We have been through so much together as a team - from Harvey to COVID, we have embraced challenges head on and persevered. Thank you for the example you set for our students, an example of resilience and determination. I am proud of each of you.

You may have noticed the numbers have slightly increased on our COVID-19 dashboard since we returned from Winter Break. We anticipated this increase as we watched reports and gathered information from Harris County Public Health over the holidays. Sheldon ISD has remained consistent around 0.2% COVID-19 cases which is still very low. Thank you for doing your part to help slow the spread.

We are doing all that we can to provide a safe environment including now reducing our spectator capacity for sporting events from 50% to 25%. A special thank you to our technology team for making a live stream available so that our community is able to watch home games via the website.

Your health continues to be our top concern. It is important to continue to follow guidelines for facial coverings and social distancing. Please remember to take care of yourself if you are feeling sick, and more importantly stay home so we can continue to do our part to stop the spread.

I am so thankful for you, and you are essential to our work!

Information regarding COVID-19 vaccine

Thank you for completing the survey provided by the Harris County Public Health for school district employees. The survey was designed to indicate the level of interest for receiving the vaccine. More than 600 of our employees completed the survey. If you did not get a chance, please click here to complete the survey.

Please remember, this link is not registration for the vaccine!

***Harris County Public Health is starting the process of registering those in Phase 1B which include individuals over the age of 65 or with one of 9 chronic conditions as defined by the state. Names will be added to a vaccine queue to be sent an email to register for the vaccine.

Monday, Feb. 15 is a remote workday

So that we can deep clean our buildings and schools, please work remotely on Monday, February 15. Classes resume on Tuesday, February 16.

Stay home if you are sick!

Help us keep all staff and students safe and well. If you are feeling ill, running fever and/or have cold or flu-like symptoms, stay home and contact your health care provider.

All staff are required to conduct a daily self-screener, including checking your temperature before reporting for onsite work. If you are unable to check your temperature at home, report to the front desk when you arrive onsite. Employees are required to report results according to established procedures using this form.
