Oak Meadow Library
March 2019
2nd graders become animal experts!
Prior, our 2nd grade learners spent a week and a half diving into books and Pebble Go. After exploring a variety of choices, students selected five animals that they were interested in learning more about. Students were given ownership in their learning by deciding if they wanted to work with a partner or by themselves. Aside from finding information about the traditional "habitat, shelter, and food" type questions, they also determined how the animal's particular external structures helped it meet a need or behavior. Pretty impressive work from second graders!
Synergy in action! Students made sure their partner was ready before moving on to the next question.
Busy time with 2nd grade researching in the back of the library while a 3rd grade class checked out books!
Teamwork!
