Take a Look at Our Learning!
Kindergarten:
MATH: Students are learning how to count to 20 by ones.
ELA: Students are learning about characters, setting and key details in a story.
1st Grade:
ELA: Students are reviewing phonograms and learning how to ask questions about a short story!
Math: Students are representing numbers to 20 using ten frames and blocks!
Walk to Read starts this week! Students will get daily Guided Reading lessons at their learning levels!
2nd Grade:
ELA: Students are identifying the beginning, middle, and end of a story.
Math: Students are skip counting by fives, tens, and hundreds.
3rd Grade:
Math: Learning multiplication using equal groups
ELA: Students are working on asking and answering questions as well as character traits

4th Grade:
Math: Students are learning about place value up to seven digits.
ELA: Students are focusing on Character traits, settings and event from the story Porpoises in Peril
We are working on relearning how to work in groups to achieve our goals.
5th Grade:
Math: Students are learning how to apply concepts of place value when multiplying and dividing by the power of 10.
ELA: Students are learning how to identify key details, quote from the text, and cite text evidence to support their answer.
Students will be bringing their liveschool reports home weekly.
6th Grade:
Math: Building on multiplication skills & fluency with adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals.
ELA: Citing evidence from text and making inferences.
Students will be starting class economy and will get paychecks based on their assigned jobs; auction will be at the end of Sept.
7th Grade:
ELA: Students will start writing a personal narrative this week, and they will also begin reading Maniac Magee.
Science: We are starting a unit on cells.
Social Studies: We will be learning about PEGS - politics, economics, geography, and sociocultural aspects of society.
Math: We are adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers on a number line.
Each student received a data binder where they will be reflecting on their grades in every subject and setting goals for improvement.
8th Grade:
ELA: Students started reading The Skin I’m In last week, and will be starting their first research project next week.
Science: We are starting a unit on genetics.
Social Studies: We will be learning about PEGS - politics, economics, geography, and sociocultural aspects of society.
Math: We are working on classifying numbers and converting fractions to decimals, as well as decimals to fractions.
Each student received a data binder where they will be reflecting on their grades in every subject and setting goals for improvement.
Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Help us stay safe by:
- Using the designated drop-off and pick-up lane
- Using our crosswalks.
- Please do not park on the street. Please use the dedicated lane for drop-off and pick-up
- Following posted signs regarding traffic rules
- Please do not park, stop or wait for children outside of the orange traffic cones (please follow the posted traffic signs)
A big thank you to all of our parents who are helping to make our Arrival and Dismissal safe and smooth for everyone! We are noticing improvements every day!
School Reminders
- Breakfast and lunch are free this year to all students. Breakfast is now served right inside our gates for students to pick up on their way to class!
- Students are welcome to come to school with a water bottle (with water) for their use throughout the day. Please save other beverages for student lunches or before and after school. Thank you for helping us keep our campus clean and ready for learning!
- Please make sure to communicate and make arrangements with teachers regarding any birthday treats you are planning on sending to school. Desk shields are required for any meal in the classroom, so sending a treat requires extra time and preparation. As a reminder, balloons are not permitted in our classrooms.
