Letter from the Principal
Hello North Side,
I hope that each of you were able to relax and enjoy time with family during the Thanksgiving Break. It's hard to believe that December is here! This is always my favorite time of year, but also one of the busiest. December has several events and some new ones that have just been added. Please continue to check your child's folder and Bloomz messages for the latest information.
The North Side Family Feast was a huge success. Check out our North Side Twitter and PTA Facebook page for pics! The Family Feast demonstrated that North Side is a place of joy. The families who took time from work and daily responsibilities were so excited to be here. Just look at those smiling faces! I want to thank everyone who helped to make the feast possible. The cafeteria staff...for all of the extra preparations and hard work it took to provide the wonderful meal. Our custodians, David and Jessica...thank you for your masterful coordination and keeping us going. Our front office staff... for smiling during the increase in foot traffic. Our teachers and staff...for spending quality time with students and families.
Something you may not know is that we had several people make donations to the cafeteria that day. Some of our families made donations to cover other families' meals so that they could eat. This amazing act of kindness helped to pay for several meals that day!
There was also a truly extraordinary act of kindness that took place that day...
One visitor came to enjoy the feast with a North Side family. She has no children attending North Side, but after spending time at the Family Feast, she wanted to do something for our students and families. Later that afternoon, she came back to North Side with a cash donation to pay off the balance of unpaid student lunch accounts. When she learned that the balance amount was greater than what she'd brought, she left and later returned with the full amount. Compelled by her experience at North Side, this supporter donated over $700 to the cafeteria and cleared the unpaid lunch account balance. When I spoke with her, she expressed that she had an overwhelming feeling that came upon her during the feast. Her desire was to take away a burden for families. While she wished to remain anonymous, we are so thankful for her incredible act of kindness
As always, each of you is important to the success of our students! Thank you for all that you do!
With Gratitude,
Dr. Allecia Frizzell

North Side Communications
We love communicating with parents and families! Be sure to check your child's tracker and folder for updated information. Teachers also use the Bloomz app to provide the latest information about upcoming events and happenings in the classroom. If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Make sure to follow and like the posts for the North Side PTA Facebook page. Based on feedback, Facebook is the preferred method for many parents and may reach more families than other forms of communication. North Side also has a Twitter page! Check us out at @northside_jcs!
