Early Release Days!

February 24th and 25th will be early release days to facilitate parent-teacher conferences. All students will be dismissed at 1:25 pm. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child's teachers but have not yet been contacted, please feel free to email your child's homeroom teacher.

State Survey!

Yes, it's another survey! However, this one is used by the State Department of Education to calculate the School Climate Star Rating. In response to the compelling body of research that underscores the importance of school climate, Georgia is the first state in the nation to include school climate as an early indicator in its academic accountability system, the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). The School Climate Star Rating is a diagnostic tool to determine if a school is on the right path to school improvement. The survey may be completed using your personal computer, smartphone, tablet, or on a computer here at Five Forks. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Parents are encouraged to participate, and the deadline is February 26th. Click on the link below. We appreciate your support!

Reflections Exhibit!

Reflections winners who advanced to the State level, Alexandra Barskiy and Madelyn Wolfe, will be a part of the State exhibition to be held on March 6th at Atlanta's High Museum of Art. We hope you'll support these students and enjoy some fantastic art pieces. Congratulations, Broncos!!

PTSA Supports STEAM!

Our wonderful PTSA recently presented Five Forks with a check for $3,000.00 earmarked for our STEAM initiative. These funds will go straight into the hands of our teachers and students in the form of various programs and materials which will help ensure that we have the resources to move our school forward with our STEAM plans. We greatly appreciate the support of our PTSA in this endeavor!

Gwinnett Honor Band!

Congratulations to 8th Graders Aidan McKenzie, Peter Naumis, Dulcea Summers, and Ryan Taylor for their audition, selection, and participation in the Gwinnett County Honor Band last weekend! It was a great experience for all! In addition, Dulcea and Ryan were eligible to audition for the Georgia All State Band! It is very difficult to make it into County Honor Band and All State Band, but is even more challenging for percussion and saxophone students, Dulcea and Ryan's instruments, respectively. Also, Dulcea had the 4th highest audition score in the County! Congratulations to these talented students and to Band Director, Zac Cogdill for all of their hard work. Way to go, Broncos!

Family Trivia Night!

This week our 3rd annual Family Trivia Night was a huge success and lots of fun! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to assist our fundraising effort. This year our fundraising takes on added importance as we have qualified for a national tournament to be held in Atlanta May 6-8 and must pay the hefty registration fee! We appreciate your support!

Community Book Drive!

We know that many families 'de-clutter' to start off the new year. Please gather up any gently used books (especially children's books) you're finished with or that your child has 'outgrown' and donate them to our Brookwood Cluster Book Drive in association with Cannon Church. There's a collection bin in our main office, so let's all fill it up! Click here for a printable reminder flyer. Thank you for helping Five Forks spread the joy of reading a good book!

Brrr! It's Cold Outside!

With the colder temperatures we would like to remind you to make sure you are dropping off your students no earlier than 8:15 am. The building will not open prior to 8:15 am EXCEPT on Help Session days (Wednesday and Thursday) when we make a special allowance and open the gym at 8:00 am to accommodate the increased volume of students coming to help sessions. We do not release students to help session classes until 8:15 am when teachers are in their rooms ready to accept them.

We appreciate your support in this matter as we want to keep all of our students safe and warm!

Bidding for Good!

Parents, please support our Brookwood Cluster by participating in the "Bidding For Good" fundraising auction! Funds generated are used to make improvements to our cluster schools and to help purchase valuable equipment and technology to provide rich and engaging lessons for students. Click here for a link to the online auction! We appreciate your support!
