Student Council Food Drive Gives Back to the LM Community
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Student Council food drive. We were able to give to families in our community. We appreciate everyone's generous donations.
Sixth and seventh graders created gratitude themed paintings to adorn the grocery bags full of donated food from our Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are hoping these personal touches help to create a feeling of care & kindness to our families who will receive food this holiday season!
American Education Week
November 15 through November 19th was American Education Week, celebrating public education and honoring the individuals working to ensure that every student receives a quality education. Please click here to watch our 2021 American Education Week video.

News from the MA Library
Thank you to all of our students and their families for making the Murray Avenue Bookfair a great success! All profits from the fair will be used to purchase books for our collection. Families may continue to shop our fair online through 12/1 at www.scholastic.com/bf/murrayave
The MA Library will be hosting its second Skype a Scientist of the school year on Thursday December 2nd at WIN. Like our last scientist, Dr. Dorukhan Ardağ is a computer scientist, but instead of building robots, he uses coding to build hydrodynamic models of the ocean in order to better understand our world. Dr. Ardağ says his work is 70% coding and 30% physics/math. Students who are interested in either can sign up here to attend.
MA Winter Concerts
The Murray Avenue Music Department is THRILLED to invite the Lower Moreland Community to our first in-person concert season since March 2020. In order to have the safest and most enjoyable musical evenings possible together as a community this December, we ask that all please be mindful of District Health and Safety Guidelines (including mask wearing in the buildings) while enjoying the concerts.
Mr. Weisblatt, Mrs. Handfinger, and Ms. Lillie-Beck are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and passion our Murray Avenue musicians have for what they do, and they cannot wait for the Lower Moreland community to hear the wonderful sounds they hear everyday in the classroom!
All concerts will be held in the Lower Moreland High School Auditorium. Please check with your child’s music teacher about concert dress code and the time that your child needs to arrive the night of the concert (it will be well before the concert start time). The Murray Avenue Winter Concerts are on the following dates:
Thursday, December 2nd at 7:00 pm - Murray Avenue Choir Concert
Wednesday, December 8th at 7:00 pm - Murray Avenue Orchestra Concert
Thursday, December 9th at 7:00 pm - Murray Avenue Band Concert
