Dilyn McNeill-Instructional Coach-Week of January 4
Why is Blogging Important in Education?
"Blogging can improve students’ writing skills and build their confidence as writers. By blogging, students can take ownership of their writing, become better observers of others’ writing, and develop a more immediate and powerful understanding of audience." University of Michigan post.
There are many different platforms for blogging. Edublogs is one source for educators. They have announced the winners of their contest. You can find great information and see how other educators use blogs in their classrooms.
How do you end your class?
"Do you want your students to attach personal meaning and relevance to what they glean from your daily lessons? An effective "Closure" activity at the end of each class period can help with that objective, creating what psychologists call the Recency Effect, otherwise known as a last impression." (R.Lucero)
