Local School Council CIWP Survey
February 22, 2020
Peirce parents -
Every two years, every Chicago Public School - including Peirce - drafts a work plan that sets goals for how to improve. That plan, called a CIWP, is submitted to CPS, who then monitors the school's progress toward those goals that they set for themselves. It is time for Peirce, and every other school, to start that process again.
Ideally, the drafting of the CIWP is a collaboration of ideas from all school stakeholders, including parents and guardians. On February 20th, the LSC held a meeting to gather ideas from parents, but we know not everyone was able to attend that meeting and give their input. This survey is your opportunity to provide ideas to the CIWP committee, which is made up of representatives from Peirce administration, teachers, and parents. Your ideas - submitted here - will help to shape the direction of Peirce for the next two years, and beyond. So please complete this survey with as many ideas and as much detail as you would like.
We've organized the survey into three pairs of broad open-ended questions that match the three big categories in the CIWP framework - Curriculum and Instruction, Culture and Climate, and Leadership and Structure for School Improvement. Below, please let us know what you like about each category and want to see preserved and grown as well as what you do not like and what you'd like to see changed or improved. If there is some feedback that you want to provide but does not necessarily fit into one of the three categories, we've added an open ended question at the end of the survey for those ideas.
Thank you for your time and effort -
