Teacher Feature
Evie Milbrandt is happy to once again be working in the Catholic school system. Her first teaching position was at CFS in the late 80s as a sixth grade instructor. She then went on to teach at Turkey Valley and was blessed to work with students ages 3 - 18. Mrs. Milbrandt received her Masters from Viterbo University and her teacher librarian certifications from UNI, as well as her Bachelors and Reading Endorsements. Mrs. Milbrandt has thoroughly enjoyed meeting the students and staff these past few weeks. She is currently assisting students part time in the Spillville building as a reading interventionist. It's a new job and new learning, but putting kids first and helping them develop a love for reading is her passion. All leaders are readers. She farms with her husband outside of Waucoma. Mrs. Milbrandt has two grown children and she loves to quilt, read and garden. She serves her parish of St. Mary's as a member of our Parish Life funeral committee, a member of the choir and a home Eucharistic minister. St. Teresa's motto of "Do small things with great love" is what she hopes to achieve in all parts of my life.
