Getting the Nitty-Gritty About Registration
Central Registration Location: East Middle School
Online registration is open:
Online registration is open through Aug. 8, and a parent in the household where the student primarily resides may complete the registration forms using the Parent Portal: https://sdm.sisk12.com/RP360/apphost/TylerSis#/parent
Begin by choosing the 2017-2018 school year, and clicking on the Online Registration button. Note: Be sure to click on the SUBMIT button after you have marked all forms as complete. If you did not receive an email about online registration, you don't have a Parent Portal account, or if you have questions, please call 816-892-1333.
Verify residency:
When you register your student(s) for the 2017-2018 school year, you need to provide one document to verify residency. Acceptable proofs of residency include utility bills (water, electric, or gas) in the resident's name, showing the service address. The documents must be recent (within 30 days). A final notice or disconnect notice is not an acceptable proof of residency. For more information about residency verification, contact Debbie Johnson at 892-1347 or Rebecca Coster at 892-1341.
FAST PASS option:
You have the option to submit proof of residency by email. Parents/legal guardians who submit acceptable residency proof by email and complete their online registration forms prior to July 26 will receive a "FAST PASS" to allow you to bypass the residency line at registration and proceed directly to the room designated for your child's school.
Email residency@raypec.org and include the following information in the email message:
● Name(s) of your student(s), their grade level(s) and the building(s) they will attend.
● Your address.
● A phone number where you can be reached.
● Attach a PDF copy of your electric, gas, or water bill (may be scanned) to the email.
If you do not submit proof of residency online, please bring one document when you register your student(s).
Back-to-School Tips
2. Practice the morning routines so that it isn't stressful for anyone in the family. Talk to your student about the morning routine, start waking up a bit earlier to prep for the start of the school year. You can go a step further and create a checklist for the night before as well as the morning of school.
3. Have your student's supplies ready to go on the first day of school. While these things are not necessarily needed on the first day, making sure your student has them will decrease their stress level on that first day.
4. Review your student's schedule prior to the first day, including the start and end times of school.
5. Practice opening a locker using a combination lock. Even if students used combination locks the year prior, sometimes they might lose the skill during the summer.
Our Own, Out And About...
Students from Ray-Pec East Middle who participated in the 7/8: Meghan Larsen, Kiersten Grier, Gracie Romine, Payton Ballinger, and Addison Hansen.
In addition, Mrs. Schnake, EMS theatre teacher, and Mrs. Twenter presented a session titled “Musicals in the Middle,” about working with middle school students to prepare and perform a musical. Such sweet sounds from some of our arts department!
