Meadow Creek Friday Flyer
February 12
Meadow Creek’s mission is to promote learning by challenging all to reach their potential
in a safe, nurturing environment by communicating, collaborating and congratulating!
Meadow Creek PTA is ready for the HEB Distric Book Swap
It's that time of year to clean off your book shelves! PTA will begin to collect your well read and no longer needed books; children and adult, fiction and non-fiction. For every book you bring in, you will get a coupon to use at the District Book Swap on Saturday, March 5. You can use your coupon to trade for a book that someone else has donated. That way you can get new books to read that someone else has already enjoyed...at no cost!
We are happy to collect your books, even if you don't plan to use the coupons! Each year the school that collects the most books is recognized. Meadow Creek has won this title for many years and are proud that we support the HEB District PTA with this fun community event.
PTA will be in the front hallway to collect books on certain mornings and to give out the coupons. Be sure to read the information on the Friday Flyer email.
Positive Proof Identification Cards
Positive Proof will be here on Friday, February 19 to make Identification Cards for families that are interested, for a reasonable price. These are helpful to have in the case of extreme emergencies so that you have quick reference to your child's height, weight, current picture and other information that would be helpful to authorities. More information will be coming home or can be picked up in the school office.
2016-2017 Transfer Forms and Spanish Immersion Applications
The window to turn in forms for a transfer to another HEB school is January 4 through February 29. This is the same window that we accept applications for our Spanish Immersion program that begins in first grade. If you have any questions about these processes, please contact us at 817-354-3500.
We hope that our kindergarten families will consider the Spanish Immersion program next year in first grade. It is an excellent Schools of Choice program. Meadow Creek is one of three HEB schools to offer Spanish Immersion. The program starts in first grade and continues through sixth grade. Students are taught in Spanish and experience the language through immersion. It is amazing to see how quickly the students learn to understand, speak and read in first grade!
HEB offers other Schools of Choice programs such as Suzuki String and World Languages. If you are interested in one of these programs at another HEB school, be sure to complete a transfer form and submit it to the campus that you are wanting to attend before February 29.

Time Change!
Next year for the 2016-2017 school year, all elementary schools will begin their day 10 minutes earlier. Our school day will begin at 7:50 AM and end at 3:00 PM.
Now would be a good time to begin new morning routines so that when we start school next year, everyone will already be used to the new times!
