Air Sea Connection
How are the ocean and atmosphere connected?
Guess what?!
Solar energy does more for life on Earth than provide energy. It drives the wind, and it drives currents in the ocean. The currents and water temperature, in turn, influence winds and weather. The Earth's surface is heated by solar energy, better known as sunlight.
Did you know?
Did you know that the atmosphere has layers? The four main layers are the Thermosphere, Mesophere, Stratosphere, and Trosophere.
The Sun.
The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System and is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth.
The Ocean
The ocean doesn't just store solar radiation; it also helps to distribute heat around the globe. When water molecules are heated, they exchange freely with the air in a process called evaporation.
The Atmosphere
The atmosphere is a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases that surrounds Earth
