Twilight Camp 2015

Day 5 Recap

Webelos Den F-16 Falcon

Day 5 was excellent! Full of fun and excitement. The boys filled out a camp a review as a group, and it asked, "What did you like?", "What didn't you like?", and "What would you add?". Their answers were awesome.

"I loved EVERYTHING." "I loved the Trading Post." "I'd add climbing." "I'd add more days and more time." Their only negative feedback: "The hike was too short." "The BB gun targets need to be bigger."

It was a very positive feedback session from the boys! They had a great time!

Rotation 1 - Scavenger Hunt

The boys worked on selecting the 10 essential things they needed for a survival trip. They also worked on four stations of survival. This revolved around identifying living creatures and making signals.

Rotation 2 - ARTS & CRAFTS

It was time to finish the walking sticks. The boys finished up with the leather hand wrap for their walking sticks.

ROTATION 3 - Lunch and Trading Post

Food, Camp Evaluation, Trading Post (Candy was SOLD OUT!), and working on our skit.

Rotation 4 - Water Games

Let's be honest. The actual water games (sponge relay) lasted about 2 minutes and then everyone started chasing the water stream from the fire truck. Did anyone see the drone making a video? Rumor has it that the video will appear on the Northern Ridge website.

rotation 5 - Closing Ceremonies

Hope you enjoyed the skit! The boys had some good laughs.

Webelos Homework

Just a reminder of the Webelos Homework. You can work on this over the summer if you wish.

I gave each of the Webelos scouts a sheet to complete this week. This will go towards their Webelos adventure requirements. They are requested to do the following:

How I Lived "OFF GRID" This Week:

Write the ways in which you lived "off grid" this week. Examples can include choosing to read a book instead of watching TV, or playing outside instead of on your Nintendo DS.

I do not need to get this paper back from the scouts. Instead, they will turn this into their actual pack Den Leader when it is complete.

Achievement Sheets

This will be emailed out in a direct email from me. It will list the achievements that each scout completed while at cub camp.

Newsletter Info

A few of you asked me about what I used to create this newsletter. If you'd like more information, check out: https://www.smore.com/educators

All of the newsletters that I emailed you were set to private. Only the parents in our camp den received these newsletters.
