On November 19th, Texhoma Elementary will be having its Thanksgiving Lunch. We will be sending home parent invites. If you would like to eat lunch with your student, please fill out the invitation letter and send it back or call the school to make your reservation. Each adult meal is $4.15.

WOWW-Window on a Wider World

Texhoma Elementary participates in the WOWW program. The Window on a Wider World(WOWW) is a program out of Amarillo, that allows for field trip opportunities for students at a discounted price. Some of the programs are even free. Quite a few of these programs come to our campus but we do have some opportunities for off-campus trips as well. Some of the events we are participated in so far include:

  • Outside the Court-this was a tennis unit that we used during our PE times
  • "Fall Ballet Demo & Performance" presented by Doxa Dance Ministry
  • "Music of the Six Flags of Texas" presented by the Amarillo College of Music

We have lots more planned for the remainder of the year. Check out the school app and website for pictures and updates.

The 3 Best Ways Parents can Help Teachers

Be involved in your child’s education – show them that you care and create a positive ‘triangle’ relationship between yourself, your child and your child’s teacher.

Educate yourself on the current trends in education – how is your child’s teacher
educating your child. Times change and so does the way we teach. As a parent it is
your job to come to grips with the new ways of learning, to best support and guide your
child through their learning journey.

Send them to school happy – Give your child a hug before they walk out the door and
you head off to work. Look them in the eye and tell them how much you love them, how
proud of them you are and boost their confidence every day. They will be more secure
and ready to start a positive day of learning.

Veteran's Day Program-November 11th

Texhoma Elementary will be participating in the annual Veteran's Program on November 11th. The program will be held at the High School Auditorium. If you are a Veteran or know a veteran, we would love to add their photo and their service information to our Veteran's slide show. Please email Missy Cartwright your picture and service information to missy.cartwright@texhomaisd.net. All additional information needs to be received by November 5, 2021. Come help us celebrate and show our appreciation to all the men and women who served or are serving our country.
