News You Can Use
June 5, 2022
As we wrap this school year up, it is imperative that we take this time to thank a few of the many people who have meant so much to the PTA these past few years.
First, thank you to Principal Labrosciano and Assistant Principal Amodio as well as the front office staff; Rachel Saluzzi, Bobbie Granskog and Komal Kulkarni. Additionally, we would like to recognize our PTA staff liaisons Melissa Null and Sallita Ballard. Your unwavering partnership and support of the PTA has enabled our team to bring countless programs, events and enrichment activities to RES. We appreciate you!
Next, the PTA Executive Board made up of RES parent volunteers-Seana Bedard, Tara Patrick, Amy Whittle, Lisa MacDonald, Heather Hopkins and Stephanie Ortegon- have given hundreds of hours, dedication and hard work over the past two years. Ladies, thank you for sharing your immense brilliance, talents and sparkle with us!
Lastly, the small army of parent volunteers that make the PTA run. We are so incredibly proud of all our programs, but we must extend a big round of applause to the chairs and committee members of our largest events of this year- Fall Auction Committee, Parents Night Outs led by Laura Gibbons and Jordan Funk, International Festival led by Colette Faulknor, Imagine A World Outdoors led by Meghan Huszagh and Meredith Ahlberg and Glow Ball led by Erin Lebris and Laura Cole. Amazing volunteers stepped forward to help our school with Beautification, Inclusion, Fundraising, Enrichment, Bulletin Boards, Author Visits, Membership, Spirit, Communications and so much more! The fun this year was brought to you by VOLUNTEERS!!
Thank you for the opportunity to serve and lead the RES PTA the past two years. It has been our honor.
Please join us for our last meeting of the year, Wednesday, June 8 at 7 on zoom as we approve a new slate of incredible volunteers to lead our new Executive Board.
See you around Redding!

ATTENTION 4TH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS: A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE JRMS PTA
Hello incoming 5th graders and families! We're looking forward to seeing and meeting you all in the fall! In the meantime, we'd like to provide you with two very important opportunities to connect with us:
Middle School Q & A:
- The transition to Middle School can be both exciting and a little daunting, with lots of questions to be asked. This year, the JRMS PTA is teaming up with our administrators to compile and answer any questions you (parents and students) might have about this first year of middle school. Parents, we encourage you to speak with your students to see what questions they may have about joining our community this fall. Our goal is to provide as many answers as possible to help make this a smooth and fluid transition for both students and their families. Remember, no query is too big or small. Questions will be answered by the PTA or, where appropriate, by the administration. To submit a question, click on this link.

4th Grade Song
- Under the guidance of the 4th grade team led by Mr. Dayton, music teacher Maddie Baker and professional song writer Kevin Briody, the 4th Grade have written, recorded and helped produce their own song. It's a whole year process and parents can listen to the first live performance at the Stepping Up Ceremony. Many thanks to Becky Rappoccio for leading this special project with $3K of your hard fundraising dollars!

A special RES PTA "Thank You":
- A mighty blast of thanks to Ms. Emonds and Ms. Ambrosio for helping organize an outstanding kickball game last Friday. All proceeds from the event will go to the Memorial Fund at RES that keeps up the beautiful pond sensory garden. Well done to all players.
- Thank you to leaders Laura Cole and Erin LeBris for a memorable and exciting Glowball last Saturday night. The sold out event was a great success despite the extraordinary temperatures for May. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and siblings who joined in the fun. SUCCESS: We raised enough funds to launch a new Staff Grant program over the summer! More details at the June PTA meeting.
- A huge thank you to the team at Classic Cleaners for carefully cleaning our very own mascot costume free of charge. Next time you patronize their business, please be sure to say thank you! **Cleaners are located beside Caraluzzi’s in Georgetown**
Third Grade -- Yearbook & Fourth Grade Song
- Calling 3rd grade parents / grandparents / guardians! We need parents to coordinate and oversee the yearbook and song for the 2022-2023 rising class. Now is the best time to learn from the experienced teams and work begins right in September 2023. It's a wonderful process working with professionals to complete, and it's fully funded by PTA fundraising efforts. Email: respta4kids@gmail.com if you want to get involved!
Kindergarten Playgroup Organizer (August, 2022)
- We’re looking for a volunteer to organize our incoming Kindergarten play group during the month of August at RES. It would require 2-3 hours of volunteer time. Please reach out if you’re interested or would like additional information.
