Forsyth County Tech Fair
It's not too late to register for the Forsyth County Tech Fair. The Tech Fair will be held on January 30, 2016 at Whitlow Elementary School. Please encourage students to register. Direct parents to the school webpage for registration information, rubrics, and sample projects.
Holiday Writing Ideas
- Use this holiday poem generator to prompt students through the creation of a poem. It is not specific to Christmas, so students can choose a holiday they celebrate around this time of year. The finished product opens in a new window and must be copied and saved to another location such as Word, a Google Doc, or an assignment within itslearning.
- Write the biography of a beloved holiday character using Google Slides. Use this handout as a guide. Please go to File > make a copy to COPY this handout in your own Google Drive rather than edit this one.
- Use this Google Slides newspaper template to have students share what their holiday plans are. COPY the template into your own Google Drive rather than edit this one. Duplicate the slide for as many students as you have in your class. Have them each create the headline and story for their family's holiday adventures.
- Have students design a travel brochure for somewhere they will be visiting over the holidays (or the North Pole?) using the Read Write Think Printing Press and this lesson plan.
Thanks Kim Lochbaum for sharing your ideas!
