Duke Ellington, his full name Edward Kennedy Ellington, was a musician who was a songwriter, conductor, and pianist. Ellington was a major figure in Jazz History. An interesting fact about Duke was that he married Edna Thompson. Another fact about him was that he was born in Washington D.C. He was born April 19, 1899 and died May 24, 1974. He was only 75 years old when he died.
