HSMA SBDM Committee Meeting

The Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee, is mandated by Senate Bill 1. The purpose of the SBDM committee is to assess and improve the educational outcomes at every school through a collaborative effort of all members of the group. The SBDM committee will ensure that the integrated planning and as well as the decision-making process for schools are decentralized.

The SBDM Committee at Harry Stone Montessori Academy an IB World School consists of campus administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, community members, and business representatives. The members of the committee have opportunities to make recommendations and suggestions to the campus administrators in order to improve the academic achievement of every student.


Our first virtual SBDM Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 4:45 p.m. Additional information will be provided by our 2020-21 chairperson.

Dear HSMA Community,



Thank you for partnering with us as we keep school safety as our number one priority. We are utilizing safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by our District. These items include, but are not limited to, hand sanitizer, masks (reusable and disposable), graphics, plexiglass, and disinfectant spray.


Being aware of the most up to date safety recommendations and consistently practicing these measures are critical for everyone in our school community. Making adjustments to our protocols as a result of new information provided by the CDC will assist us to remain as safe as possible. I am sharing updated protocols provided by our District that have been clarified with explicit expectations. The document includes steps we will take to mitigate the spread of this virus, with an emphasis on what we will do if someone becomes ill at Harry Stone Montessori Academy an IB World School-MYP.

2020 Mock Presidential Election-MYP Students

MYP students will have the chance to participate in a mock presidential election Friday, October 16th. Student Council members and advisors will post non-partisan topics related to the issues presidential election.


This week during Advisory, students will be encouraged and to discuss issues related to the posted non-partisan statements in an open, safe, and supervised environment.

She is best known for her self portraits, her famous eyebrows, and her traditional Tehuana headdress. Join us as we bring her to life using her favorite medium, a canvas & a paintbrush!

Animal Adventures Outreach Program

Senator Royce West has chosen Harry Stone Montessori Academy an IB World School - MYP to participate in a VIRTUAL Animal Adventures Outreach. This program is sponsored by the Dallas Zoo and AT&T.


Students will engage in a virtual, interactive, TEKS-aligned, live animal program led by the Dallas Zoo's trained outreach staff. The program will feature 7-8 animals from around the world and offers opportunities for Q&A during the program.
