This is something new that I am going to try. I have included information for each of the schools below that way you only need to read the information that pertains to you and or your grade level. If you have any suggestions to help make this newsletter better I would love to here your suggestions.
Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Lynn

We will see Mrs. Wuthrich/Mrs. Williams and Mr. Edwards on Tuesday and Mrs. Pfizenmaier and Mrs. Deines on Thursday for library lessons.
We will be starting the same unit in both 4th and 5th grade. We will be working on the Dewey decimal system and how to find what they are looking for in the nonfiction section of the library.
Recommended reads:
The students have been introduced to the 2014-2015 William Allen White Award nominees. The book trailers gave a little insight into each book. The students do not need to participate but if they would like to vote on a book they will have to have read at least two books from the list. Many great reads on this years list.

This week Mrs. Blake will be in the library with her science classes on Monday and Tuesday and possibly some on Wednesday. Mrs. Yenni will be bringing her classes in the library on Wednesday and Mr. DeBauche will be bringing his classes to the library on Friday.
Recommended reads:
I just finished Jefferson's Sons a Founding Fathers Secret Children by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. This was a fascinating historical fiction novel. The book was based on fact but the feelings of the characters were fiction.
Picture the Dead by Lisa Brown and Adele Griffin. This is also a historical fiction book which takes place during the civil war. Our main character, Jennie, has suffered tremendous loss throughout her life but more recently she has lost her twin brother and her fiance in the war. Her fiance's brother returns a changed man or so she things. This book keeps you thinking and has many twists and turns.
