Bullying Prevention Week

Next week, October 2-6, we will learn about anti-bullying. Each day teachers will read books about how to prevent bullying and how to help others if you see bullying. They will also do scenario cards with the students and discuss what to do if you are in a similar situation. During the week, they will do various activities. They will learn the difference beween tattling telling when it involves safety. They will learn what to do if someone is "bugging" them. They will learn how to be an up-stander. Please ask your child each day what they learned. We will wear different colors each day.

Cookie Dough Sales

Our annual Cookie Dough Sales will begin on October 17, 2022. The sale will end October 31. 2022. Cookie Dough will be delivered the week of November 27, 2022 just in time for the Christmas holiday. The cookie dough comes frozen for you to put in your freezer and pull out when you are ready to bake it. The cookies are Otis Spunkmeyer traditional favorites. Look for the flyer to come home soon. Proceeds go to the PTO to support our students and teachers. Checks can be made out to Andrews PTO.

Red Ribbon Week

During the week of October 24-28, 2022, Andrews Elementary students will participate in Red Ribbon Safety Week.

Please encourage your students to participate in daily themes to promote a positive alliance to be ‘Drug Free’. We thank you for partnering with us in spreading these very important messages!

Thank You PTO

Thank you to our wonderful PTO for purchasing spirit wear t-shirts for our students and staff. We will do an online order closer to the holidays if you want to purchase some attire as gifts. Our PTO has provided meals for our teachers on parent teacher conference nights when teachers stay until 8:00 P.M. PTO has also provided money to be used for art activities, food for Grandparents Night, gifts for kindergarten orientation, and scholarship money to former Andrews students getting reading to go to college or trade school. Please consider attending our next meeting or joining the email list to get volunteer opportunities. If you want to join the email list, please call the school office and we can send your email to Justin and Megan Barker, our PTO presidents.

Bus Reminder:

Reminder: K-2 students must have an adult visible for the bus to drop off your child(ren).

Textbook Rental and Break/Fix Fee

Be on the lookout for Textbook Rental and/or the optional Break/Fix Fee statements to come in the mail. The Optional Break/Fix fee is $25.00 It is due October 31. With this fee, you will not be charged the full amount if your child breaks his or her IPAD. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Cocklin in the school office at 260-786-3021.
