Jefferson Staffing Update

For 2019 - 2020

Class Configuration and Teachers for 2019-2020

Hello Jefferson Families!

We have been busy the last several weeks preparing for next school year. There have been some staff shifts and moves and I would like to make you aware of it all.

Student placement letters go home on Friday, June 7 and Step Up Day is Monday, June 10.

Thank you for all of your support!

Kindergarten - Two Classrooms

We are saying a sad goodbye to Alex Fell. Alex and her family will be moving to Iowa at the end of the school year. Alex has been a wonderful kindergarten teacher and she will be greatly missed.

Megan McQueen has been hired as our Response to Intervention (RTI ) Specialist and will be leaving the kindergarten classroom. Megan is excited to take on this new role where she will be able to impact more students in our building.

Amanda Tucksen will continue teaching at Jefferson and will be joined by Hilary Lindsey. Mrs. Lindsey comes to us from Wilson Elementary where she has been teaching kindergarten for several years. Prior to Wilson, Mrs. Lindsey was a second grade teacher at Jefferson. Please help us to welcome her back to Jefferson.

First Grade - Three Classrooms

Keli Abbot, Liz Miller, and Emily Pedersen will continue our fantastic first grade team. Mrs. Abbott's room will move further down the primary hall next year and be located right next door to Mrs. Miller's room.

Second Grade - Three Classrooms

Alison Green and Christy Schloss return to teach second grade next year. Mrs. Green will be trading classrooms with Mrs. Abbott. Look for her in Room 10 next year. Mrs. Green and Mrs. Schloss are excited to welcome our newest staff member, Kelley Dixon to their team.

Ms. Dixon comes to Jefferson after a year of student teaching experience at Adams Elementary where she spent the year fully immersed in work with students with disabilities as well as students experiencing challenging behavior. Ms. Dixon was described as someone who takes initiative immediately and becomes fully involved in the school building. Please help us to welcome Ms. Dixon to Jefferson.

Third Grade - Two Classrooms

Elton Kikuta and Maria Simmons will continue teaching our third graders next year, however, Mr. K. will be moving his room to the intermediate hallway. Find Mr. K in Room 15, right next door to Mrs. Simmons.

Fourth Grade - Three Classrooms

Cyndi Wofford returns to fourth grade for 2019 - 2020 and joins an already strong team which includes John Nelson and Tyler Messenger. Mr. Messenger will be teaching a straight fourth grade classroom, as we no longer have a need to split grades in one classroom.

Fifth Grade - Two Classrooms

Kristin Erickson and Kristin Silbernagel continue teaching our fifth graders next year. The more things change...the more they stay the same.
