Secondary Transition Assessments
Transition Assessments are a part of an ongoing process of collecting information on a student's needs, strengths, interests, and preferences. IDEA (2004) requires the identification of post-secondary goals that are “based upon age-appropriate transition assessments related to training, education, employment, and, where appropriate, independent living skills.” Various types and approaches for assessment, relate assessment to the transition process and provide opportunities for applying these research-based ideas are provided.

Individualized IEP Writing Support With a Focus on Secondary Transition
We will give updated information on state requirements for Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. Participants will analyze their own IEP’s, check for alignment, complete hands on activities, and work with groups to generate ideas for completing a compliant IEP. The IEP will be linked to the EBR process. The purpose of the Educational Benefit Review (EBR) is to determine if a student’s IEP is reasonably calculated for the student to receive educational benefit.
