PREVENTING THE SUMMER SLIDE – COVID-19 CHALLENGES WEBINAR
Wednesday, June 3, 2020, 9-10 am
Research shows children’s reading skills can regress, on average, by 25% in the summer. Math skills also suffer during this break in learning. With the significant changes in learning environments due to COVID-19, greater declines in learning retention are expected. Recovery periods in the new school year are likely to be longer as well. The Military Child Education Coalition webinar is hosting an interactive webinar to uncover ways parents can engage their children in educational activities during the summer without them even noticing they are doing it. Let’s help reduce the “summer slide” in learning losses!
