Attendance Procedures & Transportation Changes
We are pleased to announced the addition of a special email address to allow you to email your child's absence to school, rather than calling. We all know how busy mornings can be, so we're hoping this gives you another avenue to communicate with the school. That email address is: maryfrankattendance@phm.k12.in.us. Please provide your child's name, date of absence, and reason in your email.
We also have a couple of requests to help with attendance and/or transportation changes.
- Please email by 10:00a.m. if your child is going to be absent from school. You may also email the day after with attached doctor's notes (may also be sent as screen shot) if they will be out for multiple days.
- If there are transportation changes, you must write the teacher a note and send it in with your child OR make a phone call to the office before noon whenever possible. We know emergency situation happen on occaision, but to assure that all changes are received, we'd like for you to PLEASE communicate with us as soon as possible.
School begins at 7:55am, with doors opening at 7:40am. Dismissal begins at 2:10pm, with buses rolling at 2:20pm. You can find the PHM attendance policy for elementary students, Pre-K, and PennPALS students here:
Youth Services Bureau
She works for the Youth Services Bureau of St. Joseph County (YSB of St. Joe County), and will be available to assist families with resources they may need. She also sees students individually and in small groups to work on school, home and/or personal and social issues in order to help them be more successful in school. You can reach her during school hours at 272-0340. All information shared with her is confidential. HERE is a letter from Ms. Wery, along with a permission slip, and parent referral form if you're interested in having Ms. Wery work with your child. Teachers can also make recommendations, but you will always be contacted if this referral has been initiated.
PHM seeks excellence in everything, including social-emotional growth and I know that the addition of Ms. Wery will be a resource in place to help students needing her services to become the best versions of themselves.
