Virtual Families Newsletter II

Congrats, Pick Families!

You and your student have made it through the first 9 weeks of learning virtually from home! We know it hasn't been easy and the learning curve has been steep for all of us. Your partnerships and support have been critical in your child's successes. We couldn't do it without you!

I hope you enjoyed the fall Counselor's Corner newsletter. I hope to continue to provide quarterly interactive resources for you to support your child's academic and social/emotional needs from home. If there's ever a topic you would like to know more about, please let me know and I will try to include it in the next edition.

In the last quarter your children have completed counseling lessons in Schoology related to dealing with Covid related changes, identifying their values, emotional vocabulary, and coping skills. I hope they have enjoyed them!

This next 9 weeks we will be studying personal safety and abuse prevention associated with Erin's Law (http://www.erinslaw.org/). For more information on the Safer Smarter Kids curriculum feel free to check out the parent resource page at https://safersmarterfamilies.org/. There are great ideas about how to follow up with safety related discussions at home. We will also learn about bullying, cyber safety, goal setting and time management as the quarter continues.

As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone if there is anything I can do to individually support your child. I look forward to working together this year to ensure the success of your Pick virtual learner!
