Lion's Den News January Edition
Words from Mrs. Logan
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! We hope that you had a wonderful and relaxing break. Welcome back to the rest of the school year. We are half-way finished the 2019/2020 school year! Let’s finish this year out GREAT!
All NWEA testing has been completed. You will be receiving your student reports on Thursday, January 9. These reports will show the growth your student made from the beginning of the year until the December testing. We will have our Growth Assembly in January. We will have our 2nd nine-weeks assembly at the same time where we will recognize perfect attendance, good citizenship and improvement.
Remember, we will be out of school on January 20 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Let’s start the year off right. Please remember to be to school on time. The tardy bell rings at 7:50. Your student must be in the classroom at that time. If they are checked in at 7:50, they are still late to class.
We are looking forward to finishing 2019/2020 strong!

Choir News
Thank you so much Lakewood Family for helping create so many musical memories in December. Parents, grandparents, staff, and students both past and present came out to our first community caroling event. The choir spread joy throughout North Little Rock on their field trip and our staff and students rocked it sharing their carols at our annual Sing A Long.
Mark your calendar for our African American History Month program on Thursday, February 27 at 5:30 pm. Our second graders are studying Civil Rights Heroes for their Wit and Wisdom unit and the whole school will be learning music from African American artists. The choir, second grade students, and other students and guests performers will present a program the evening of February 27. Come for some good food and some great music!
