The Power of Effective Feedback

Studying the work of Hattie and Applying to the Classroom

Observing and enabling opportunities of authentic feedback is always a dream of every educator. Here's your chance to make it reality! This day of professional learning provides time to examine Visible Learning research on effective feedback, learn how students accept and use teacher feedback, understand how to enhance student-to-student feedback, and explore how to create a culture of feedback in the classroom.

Takeaways include:

  1. Examining and ENHANCING what is already done in the classroom.
  2. Discovering individual feedback practices.
  3. Reading and applying best practices from experts in the field of authentic feedback.
  4. Strategies to create a culture of feedback in every classroom.

Participants will explore the research of John Hattie, Doug Fisher, Nancy Frey, and Dylan Wiliam and will receive a copy of EL Magazine, "Looking at Student Work."

This session was offered in August, 2017 and the success warranted another opportunity for others to hear, process, and apply. Please join DeAnne Taggart, SIEC Director of Professional Learning, for this session at the SIEC office on January 5, 2018.
