McFarland High School Meets E-Colors in Education
I communicated with Principal Brian Bell (G/Y) after the session that took place earlier this week. He wrote the following day:
What an exciting event! The staff really got into the training session and hated to see the last activity (maze) cut short due to timing. I can tell you the campus “rumble” this morning has been about how much fun the staff had and finding out about peers E-Colors. They said they really got to learn more about themselves as well as learn more about their peers. I had 2-teachers already come talk to me this morning about implementing E-Colors in their classrooms; so two of the E-Colors 4 U books have left my office prior to 1st class period.
I had a “pow-wow” with my group of secretaries…..they really liked the survey and were amazed about their own E-Colors. I shared with them the different activities that they missed and the dynamics of each color group. There was lots of laughs and talk about staff E-Colors, which group certain teachers were in, etc.
I personally gained very important information about the dynamics of my staff. This information will help me set-up teams of teachers (appreciate diversity of thought) as well as assist me in guiding my staff meetings. I plan to make a spreadsheet of all staff members with their primary and secondary colors so that we are all aware of our E-Colors and share with the staff.
We are so blessed to have had you come and share your company with McFarland High School. I look forward to the next training session in August so that we have 100% of the training. Once complete, we will be able to embed this curriculum into our new Career Choices classes mandated for all Freshmen (grade 9 students). Therefore, all Freshmen will be trained for the 2016-2017 school year and we will train all subsequent years. Overtime, we will be an E-Colors high school campus where every student on campus will be trained in the “art” of interpersonal relations. The E-Color and Career Choices curriculum will assist our school with tardies, truancies, absences, discipline, campus culture, and individual awareness.
Thank you for your time and effort!
Brian
What a powerful and meaningful way to utilize the tools and resources from the E-Colors and Personal Intervention workshop!
I would like to thank Ted Pendergrass (R/G) from Taft Oil-Tech Academy for his infinite support and co-facilitation with the McFarland team.
