MESSAGE FROM MRS. MOTZNY
Dear Parents,
Last week I told you about several staff members that are retiring. This week we are introducing some of our new staff members. These staff members will join our staff or begin their new role in the 2023-2024 school year.
We are very excited to announce that Missy Barfuss will be moving into the role of assistant principal. Missy is currently serving as our K,1, and 2nd grade instructional specialist.
Kelly Davis will be joining our staff on our 3rd grade team. She is currently teaching at Hairgrove Elementary. Mrs. Davis has a 1st grade daughter that attends Sampson.
Cayla Youssef will also be joining our 3rd grade team. She is currently teaching at Kirk Elementary. We hope that you will join us in welcoming our staff for the upcoming school year.
Sincerely,
Heather Motzny

Message from the Nurse
5th Grade Parents
The Texas Legislature has adopted amendments concerning immunization requirements for all incoming 7th grade students. Two (2) shots are required: Tetanus (Tdap) and Meningiococcal (Menactra). If your child has already received these shots, please forward a shot record to the clinic as soon as possible. Your child’s records can be updated now and will alleviate any future problems in middle school. If you have any questions please call the Sampson Clinic at 281-213-1609.
Clinic Needs your Donations
The Sampson clinic needs boy’s athletic shorts or light weight jog type pants and girl’s athletic shorts or leggings all in small, medium, or large sizes. If the clothing has elastic bands or ties at the waist that’s even better! The clinic is also in need for girls’ and boys’ socks and underwear in all sizes. Change of clothing at school due to accidents, spills, and falls in puddles happen often and borrowed clothes help in times of need. Thank you for considering this donation to your child’s school clinic!!!
Thanks,
parent volunteer screener for Hearing/Vision
Have you ever considered being a parent volunteer screener for Hearing/Vision screenings conducted in the Fall at Sampson Elementary school???
NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!!!
We are in need of volunteers to become trained for hearing/vision screenings. CFISD Health Services is holding training sessions on May 9-11th. *See times below for training sessions. You can choose which type of training you wish to attend (you are welcome to attend both if you want). Your vision or hearing certification cards are good for five years! This gives you a lot of volunteer opportunities to help out at your children’s school. If interested, please contact the school nurse, Lori Alms at lori.alms@cfisd.net by May 8th. Thank you so much for your help!

From the library
Let's bring in the books!
Please take the time to do some final looks for Sampson library books. If a book is still lost, you will be asked to pay for it before the end of the school year. Notes will start to come home next week for books that parents have already signed for throughout the year.
Look high and low! Search cars, under car seats, under couches, on bookshelves, and under beds. Thanks for your help!
