Happy Sunday Pirates!
We hope that everyone weathered the storm on Thursday without further damage to their homes. We appreciate your support for our tutoring efforts and assistance for seniors who are working on college applications. Our band students continue to be hard at work for their
marching band showcase that will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Congratulations to our tennis team who had an outstanding performance this week at their conference match. They will head to regionals this Friday. Our soccer team tied Jacksonville 2-2 on Tuesday and beat Northside 1-0 on Friday. Our volleyball teams fought hard against West Carteret and Jacksonville but lost their matches. Our football team took a hard loss against Northside on Wednesday. Congratulations to Emily Matthews and Sabrina Williams who both qualified for regionals and were selected for the Coastal 3A All-Conference team in golf. They will travel to Raleigh on Monday to compete. Good luck ladies!
Athletics this week in the boro' will include golf on Monday at the Carolina National Golf Club, volleyball at home against White Oak and soccer at home against West Carteret on Tuesday, our cross country conference meet on Wednesday at NE Creek park, volleyball at home against Havelock, soccer at Jacksonville and JV football at home against Jacksonville on Thursday, tennis regionals at Wesleyan college and football at Jacksonville on Friday. In addition to college field trips to UNCW and NC State we have offered our students excursions to CMAST and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh. Additionally we will offer a Model United Nations interest meeting on Tuesday from 3:30-5:00 pm, support for seniors working on college applications and tutoring at the Swansboro Parks and Recreation throughout the week. Mrs. Murphy would like to invite art club students and seniors to meet her in the front circle of the school to paint the senior wall and rock Monday-Thursday from 9-11:30 am. Model United Nations Interest Meeting
Interested in covering world issues or conflict and creating solutions; that can take place by joining Model United Nations. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are welcome to attend the interest meeting to learn about Model United Nations and club membership that will be held on Tuesday at 3:30 at Swansboro Rec Center.
