BATHROOM USE
Bathroom use:
We want our building to be inviting and welcoming to students, and part of that is being able to use the restroom when you need to. We have a few students that take advantage of that and congregate in that space. We ask students to sign out before leaving the room and indicate the time they return. We are going to be analyzing those logs to identify students who may need to have some added restrictions in the building. We also reviewed a basic restroom standard with students this week that only one student should be in a stall at any given time. If we identify more than one student in the stall, we will be issuing a suspension as a consequence. By in large our kids are great, but restrooms use lately has created some behavior challenges that we are going to address with students to ensure those don’t continue.
FREE RAPID COVID TESTS AVAILABLE
The district now has Rapid Covid tests that staff and students are allowed to have and use. If you feel you have symptoms of covid and want to test, you can stop by your school health office or main office and get a box of tests. Each box contains 2 Covid tests. If you would like to keep a box of tests at home for the case of, if you need one and it’s after school hours or a weekend, you can stop by the health office or main office or ask your child’s teacher to have a box sent home with your child, to keep at home. You are by no means “required” to get or have a box of these tests, they are available to those that want or wish to have them.
If you do test positive for Covid we ask that you notify the school and follow the school’s Covid policy for return, which can be found on the school’s webpage in the health services tab, labeled Covid policy. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact District Nurse Jessica Miller, 320-685-1045 or at millerj@rocori.k12.mn.us

AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Winter weather has certainly had an impact on our school schedule. Because of this, we wish to provide some additional educational support for our RMS and RHS students (Grades 6-12). During the month of January, we will expand our Innovation Center (Media Center) hours (3-5pm). In addition, we will staff the center with support staff to assist with homework completion, test taking, and other academic needs. We will open the Innovation Center and provide help on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. RMS/RHS students will have this opportunity starting January 10th running through February 2nd.
