Greyhound Newsletter 11/4/22
Long Weekend Ahead! Term 1 Ends November 4
There is no school for students on Monday, November 7 (In-Service Day)
Helping Meet Required Vaccine Updates
Minnesota Law requires that every child attending school be immunized unless a parent requests an exemption for medical reasons or conscientiously held beliefs against immunizations for Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, (whooping cough), polio, Hepatitis B, varicella (chicken pox), measles, mumps, and rubella (German measles). As of September 1, 2014 MN immunization Law was updated to also include requiring Meningococcal booster shots in middle school and high school.
Due to the volume of students who are missing required vaccines due to pandemic clinic closures, we are going to be offering on site vaccine clinics for the two most of our students have missed. If your student doesn't have updated vaccines or one of the two alternate forms (medical exemption or conscientious objection) on file with the school by December 18 they will not be able to return to school until the requirements have been met.
Vaccine Clinics will be held for our high school students to receive the Meningococcal or TDAP shots since those seem to be the most missed.
We have included the time slots for both East and Denfeld (middle school dates TBD) since we have students who travel to the other site for classes. Sign up for the site your student will be at during your selected time.
- East: Friday, November 18, 8:30-11:30, Career Center
- Denfeld: Friday, November 18, 12:30-3:30, Health Office
Please make sure students have all required forms completed and ready for their appointment time.
- Essentia Registration Form
- Essentia Consent and Authorization Form
- Essentia Consent for Treatment
- Essentia Consent to Treat Minor (if the student is 17 or under and the parent/guardian will not be present for the shot)
Reserve a slot for the TDAP or the Meningococcal vaccine for your student.
End of Term 1 is November 4, 2022
Where to Watch for Grades
During the term, grades for assignments, quizzes, and tests are entered in Canvas. This is the learning management system we use. Your student should feel pretty confident using the system by now. If not, check out our resources below.
At the end of each term, teachers will transfer the final quarter grades from Canvas into Infinite Campus. This is the system we use for all other student information tracking. Attendance is in here, transcripts, credits earned, final grades, and fees and fines can all be found in Infinite Campus. Teachers will enter final grades for Term 1 by November 9. The office takes a little time to officially verify everything and then report cards are generated.
We plan to hand out 22-23 Term 1 Report Cards in WIN classes on Tuesday, November 14. You will be able to view their final Term 1 grades in Infinite Campus prior to that. Please check with your student and then their teacher if you have questions about final grades.
