Leadership Message

Dear St. Luke Families,

We had a wonderful week here at St. Luke. Our students are continuing on in their learning journey and our staff continue to deliver an excellent educational program for all of our students. It is truly a blessing to have such dedicated staff at St. Luke who put students first each and every day.

Beginning on Monday we are all excited to start our Advent journey. The liturgical year begins with Advent, the four weeks prior to Christmas. It is a season of preparation, waiting, and anticipation. Advent means "Coming" in Latin. It is a period of 4 Sundays in which we prepare for the arrival of Jesus. During our daily Advent celebrations we will begin by lighting the first purple candle symbolizing "Hope" with the "Prophet's Candle" reminding us that Jesus is coming. We will take this time to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus and learn how we can shine our light on others. We pray that this Advent may be a time marked by simplicity, calmness and quietness as we wait in hope and wonder for Jesus.

Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness,

send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.

We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.

We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.

We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.

We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.

We are your people,

walking in darkness,

yet seeking the light.

To you we say, “Come Lord Jesus!”

Have a great weekend!
