"I want to make clothes that are beautiful of course, but also clothes that are interesting and considered intelligent and not out of place." -Miuccia Prada
Everybody wants to succeed in what they do, whether it is a hobby, school work, or something they want to accomplish. What she is saying is that she doesn't just want to succeed (making her clothes appealing to the eye) she wants to make clothes and accessories that spark peoples interest and make people think about it more than what's on the outside. Some people just want to get things done, but others love to feel the success of their hard work paying off, and accept other peoples charisma toward their achievement.
"I've always loved aesthetics. Not particularly in fashion, but an idea of beauty." -Miuccia Prada
You can decide that anything that meets your eye is beautiful if you can perceive it in a way that is attractive to you. She believes that a general idea of beauty is fascinating, not only in her job, but in other things as well. If you just think about how the things you enjoy are pleasing and not give other peoples interests a second glance, you could possibly miss out on a great experience.
"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion". -Martha Graham
Passion is the push that gives people the drive to not only do, but go above and beyond the task given. For example, to be a strong dancer, you have to love what you do and work at it until no end. Getting the skill down is not going to cut it, you have to make the skill your own and practice at it until its how you want it. Passion is a strong feeling or emotion, and if you don't feel a certain way about what you are doing, you are not going to do it as greatly as you are going to do something you love.
"I did not want to be a tree, a flower, or a wave. In a dancers body, we as audience must see ourselves, not the imitated behavior of everyday actions, not the phenomenon of nature, not exotic creatures from another planet, but something of the miracle that is a human being." -Martha Graham
When thinking of how you are going to put something into action, you cannot think about how somebody else has done it, or how somebody might do it, you have to only think about yourself and which route is best for you to take. She is saying, as a dancer, when portraying the essence of a bird (or anything else) you must not think about being a bird, but a human moving like a bird.

My Artistic Statement

Aesthetics is the beauty of art, and it is important to bring out the aesthetic of whatever it is that you love. Make people think a little deeper about you and your actions, and think a little bit harder about everyone else's. Do what you love with grace and above the standards that you expect from yourself, but think only about how you want to do it. Art is beautiful, you just have to look at it a little deeper than what the surface holds.

“One should really use the camera as though tomorrow you'd be stricken blind.” -Dorothea Lange

Dorothea believed if you use it camera you better dang well use it right. If you were to film a movie, take a photo, paint a picture, etc. You should think of it as the last thing you will ever see to make it worth actually being seen. Nobody wants to see a blurry irrelevant photo and then the next day find yourself blind and the last photo you saw wasn’t the best it could’ve been

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” -Dorothea Lange

When we have memories our first instinct these days is to pull out a camera and capture the moment so we won’t forget. Dorothea knew this in her own time and used it to her photographs. Her ideas on photography and how we use it in life is very inspiration because she doesn’t just take a picture so it can be put in a gallery; she finds something that is worth seeing and captures it to show the world.

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” -Oscar Wilde

There are so many different types of art, ways to show it, ways to see it; it can mean different things to different people. You can find art anywhere and everywhere in this world. This is what Oscar Wilde knew him being a writer and poet he looked at things around him for inspiration to use towards his own art.

“No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist.” -Oscar Wilde

In order to see the great things in art you have to look beyond what you may see or hear. Art can be hard to understand because most of the time the art itself is the thoughts of the artist. Art is meant to be interpreted; thought as something more than just an image for looks. When you look at art for more than what it looks like you can see the true beauty in it.

My Artistic Statement

The eye should see within the art, because art is meant to be see through the lines as something meaningful and inspirational.
