Leader in Me Symposium
Each year, there are LIM Symposium events around the country. We have sent staff to attend the one in St. Louis for the past three years. This year, they have moved it to Kansas City!!!! It is two day event full of a variety of activities. INFO One of the things that attendees do is travel to other LIM schools to visit. We applied, and were selected, as one of the host schools. This is a great opportunity for our students to again practice their skills and share with others the GREAT things happening at HPE. Our visit is from 1:00 – 2:30 on Tuesday, 02/16. There will be approx. 80 -100 guests at that time. We are very excited that our students will get another chance to shine as they share all about Leadership at HPE.
Leadership Academy Time - February Date Changed - Need Additional Adults.

Our Community Cares (Brian Galvez) - For area business leaders.
Hello,
You are receiving this email because your name/business was shared as being someone who might have an interest in helping sponsor the annual Melanie Grace 'Kickin Against Cancer' fundraising event. I've tried to cover pertinent details in the email, but without overwhelming you with too much info. If you have additional questions, any of us on the committee would be glad to answer them (my contact information is below).
I'm involved with this event for several reasons: one, I'm passionate about young people; two, both of my daughters have played LSHS soccer and grown from their experience with this event; and three, the young woman after whom this event is named was a student in my youngest daughter's class.
We are hopeful you may be willing to support the event, and specifically Brian Galvez, this year.
The committee is hard at work planning. We will begin t-shirt sales for the event in the next couple of weeks, and our goal this year is to underwrite the cost of the t-shirts with corporate donations of $250 each. We have secured two sponsors thus far and need 4-5 additional to ensure the t-shirt production costs are covered.
What: Annual Melanie Grace Kickin' Against Cancer soccer match
When: April 26, 2016, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Where: Lee's Summit High School Stadium
Details: Melanie Grace Lindmark was a kindergartner at Woodland Elementary when she was diagnosed with cancer - she would have been a junior at LSHS this year. After her death, the LSHS women's soccer program decided to honor her memory by establishing an annual fundraiser to help support other local young people battling cancer. The past several years, we've raised approximately $7,000. This year's goal is $10,000. The varsity soccer players solicit local businesses for cash and silent auction donations, and the day of the event, the recipient and his/her family are celebrated at halftime of the match.
This Year's Recipient: You may know Brian Galvez is a student at Highland Park Elementary, and that last spring he was diagnosed with leukemia. We are excited to support Brian and his family on their journey to overcome ALL. Brian will be the recipient of this year's event proceeds - we hope to be able to provide his family $10,000.
Benefits of Being Involved: This is an opportunity to expand community awareness of your business. The t-shirt sponsors will have their name/logo printed on the tshirts (our initial order is for 300 t-shirts - we have sold as many as 500 in the past). You will also have the option of having a table the day of the event to promote your organization, and your name/logo will be on the programs and signage, as well as being announced during the halftime program.
We recognize you likely get solicited frequently, and marketing dollars and funds dedicated to local causes get allocated quickly but we are hopeful the value of supporting a local event is attractive! :o)
Please contact me at dmax1@sbcglobal.net or 816-365-4791 no later than Monday, January 25 if you are interested in being listed as a sponsor on this year's t-shirts. Thank you!!!
Thanks!
