Happy Summer!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer and finding lots of opportunities to travel and play outside. Our staff has been working very hard to prepare for the upcoming school year. Many teachers have participated in professional development opportunities and have been planning exciting lessons for our students. Our custodial staff has been working hard waxing floors and getting our building ready for the upcoming school year. Administration has been working on hiring new staff, scheduling and planning. While I am certainly enjoying this time to prepare for the year, I am missing my students. I can't wait to see you all soon!

SWANSBORO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ORIENTATION

THURSDAY, AUGUST 22

Kindergarten only 4:00 pm-4:45 pm

All grades 5:00 pm-7:00 pm (floating)

* Meet your teachers, drop off your supplies, sign up for transportation (bus or car), join PTO, etc.

YEARBOOKS

All yearbooks have been mailed to those that purchased one. We do have a few additional yearbooks that are first come, first serve. They will be available for purchase for $30 on Thursday (7/11). Stop by our main office anytime Thursday 8 am- 4 pm to purchase a yearbook. Thank you to Mrs. Green for all her hard work in creating our yearbook. It looks fabulous!

Summer Learning Opportunities

Don't forget to read daily and practice your math skills. Mrs. Lynch sent home a Summer Reading Bingo sheet with all students at the end of the year. Also, each grade level received a flyer on tips to prepare for the upcoming grade level. I hope that everyone is doing some resting and relaxation, but spending a little time each day on academics will keep your skills sharp and avoid the "summer slide." Most accounts for programs such as Reading Eggs, RAZ kids, Moby Max, etc. are still active. IReady Math is not active during the summer. Use your student login sheet to access these great online resources.
