DSA Expectations

I set and meet challenging goals. I hold high expectations for myself and my future. I never give up.

I believe in myself and my potential. Others do not define me.

I respect and value people’s diverse identities. I am curious about other people. I learn from others.

ESL classes hear about how passions can inspire your work

The middle and high school ESL 3 classes invited several speakers from MIT this past week to talk about their passions in their work and outside of their work. Students prepared questions ahead of time and engaged in some great discussions about how one's passions can lead a person to creative and engaging careers. The speakers' passions ranged from studying new electrofuels for air travel, to participating in competitive jump-roping, to helping government and nongovernmental organizations design projects to improve the world in different ways. The ESL 3 students are now studying and will be interviewing experts in their own passion topics, including travel photography, careers in medicine, video game design, and many more.
