Monday Morning Memo - Week 5
9/30/18 Let's get it!!!
Dear Poupard Staff,
Thank you all for an excellent Evacuation Drill this past week. You were all prepared and completed your important roles for a seamless transition to and from the Harper Woods Library. We learned a ton from entire process and will continue to improve our practices at the building to ensure safety for the students families have entrusted us with.
Thank you to those that have signed up to assist with our Open House on Sunday, October 14th. Feel free to let me know if you'd be willing to assist in greeting prospective families on that day.
Conferences are right around the corner! Families will begin receiving email notifications from the office starting September 30th to signup for conferences if they haven't done so already. Rachel will begin making calls to families as an additional reminder as well. I've noticed that quite a few families have already signed up which is extremely promising. This first set of conferences will provide an excellent avenue to share initial insight about our learners strengths and set goals for areas that we'd like to see them grow. Please collaborate with teachers that you share siblings with on scheduling those families during a similar time so we can provide them a one stop shop.
This Tuesday, we will be reviewing the evaluation process and begin setting individual/team goals. You will receive time to begin adding professional goals into your evaluation document and you and I will finalize those goals during a planning period prior to Oct 18. I'd recommend discussing individual professional goals with your grade level partners and see if there is an opportunity to collaborate and create a "team goal" that you could all pursue together. This is not mandatory by any means and only a suggestion.
I will be attending a PBIS conference from Wednesday through Friday of this week. Lori is our Teacher-in-Charge and will be assisting with the majority of matters during my absence.
I'll be readily available at 586-873-9839 for matters requiring immediate attention. Please send me an email if you'd like to discuss an item that is less urgent. I'll be checking my emails periodically in between sessions as well.
Here are members of our crisis team that will be present during my absence:
Wed: Molly, Brandy, Lori
Thurs: Molly, Lori
Fri: Brandy, Lori
Please be sure to call the office and Cindy will coordinate with our crisis team to send support if a student is experiencing some struggles learning.
Your Teammate,
Ali

Nuts and Bolts - Updated 9/30/18
- Please be sure to send any PTO Ambassador forms to the office and continue to push the opportunity for your families.
- Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
- Dragon Dollars will be passed out and used for students in (Y5-5) for our weekly raffles. The school store will be available for students in grades (4-5). Students in grades (Y5-3) can save up their Dragon Dollars if they would like to spend them once they reach 4th or 5th grade. We will discuss this more as a staff with the PBIS Team.
- Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We've completed a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything thats necessary and included updated rosters on 9/26.
- Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
- Please target completing F&P Testing for new and struggling students that you believe may receive an I-RIP by October 4th.
