October News
Hello A.C.E. families!
We hope that all of you have been enjoying all of the many wonderful activities of Fall! We have been busy here at A.C.E. as we finished up our visit in Africa and have moved on to South America.
Here’s a glimpse of what we’ll be doing and learning about this month:
October:
Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness
Focus on the Family has great information on how to teach our children about compassion. You can find it on this link...

Bible Verse: Be kind and compassionate to one another; forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32)
Special Days in October
15th- NO SCHOOL for Springboro schools. Bright Beginnings open. ACE open for registered students (the email for registering will come soon)
18th - Early Release from Springboro Schools
Tour of the Continents: South America:
Our A.C.E kiddos will travel to South America this month! Perhaps your child will learn to salsa dance or taste the Peruvian dish, Papa a la Huancaina, while learning about the diverse continent of South America.
We'll be learning all about sloths, snakes, and llamas. We'll even be enjoying the art of circle weaving and jewelry making. Ask your kiddos about making an Incan mask and making Nazca sand art!
South America is certainly the continent of contrast as it is home to the Amazon Rainforest, the pampas, or grasslands of Argentina, and the vibrant nightlife of Rio de Janeiro.
Because of it's tropical rainforests, South America is home to exotic animals such as the giant anteater, poisonous frogs, and anacondas. South America is also home to the Galapagos penguin, the only penguin to live north of the equator, as well as the famous Galapagos tortoise.
Today, South America is a vibrant continent of a variety of cultures. From the guachos (or cowboys) of Argentina, to the coffee farmers of Guatemala, and last but not lease the futbol fans of Brazil. Come with us as we explore the wild and wonderful continent of South America!

- Juice boxes or capri- sun
- Individual size cheez-it bags
- Cheese crackers (snack packs or variety packs)

Please drop off the donations off in the boxes in the lobby, we will begin collecting mid-week.
Pampered Chef Classroom kitchen fundraiser
We typically do not do any fundraisers (with the exception of our Spring Sing event in May). But this opportunity would not only benefit our school, but a school in need as well! All of our preschool classes, Kindergarten Exploration, and our A.C.E kiddos will benefit from the classroom kitchen cooking kits (child appropriate) that we will earn from this fundraiser. Pampered Chef will then donate kitchen kit(s) to a school in need. Pampered chef is partnering with nonprofit Big Green to bring cooking education to 150,000 students. Please stay tuned for more information!
A.C.E Amigos
ACE Amigos is a mentoring program that is designed to provide our after school aged children with fun, positive and character building activities (such as science experiments, crafting, and just good old playing - as well as a yummy snack that they prepare together) with a high school age mentor.
We have had great success in matching up our mentors with our 2-5th grade children and providing both the child and the mentor with a wonderful experience!
Our Amigos program starts this month, more information will come. We will be participating in fun fall activities!
G.P.S
Movie Mania
Every other month, beginning in October, we get together for a movie event on a Friday night. I send out an email blast and you can respond to register by emailing me back. Space is limited and the age is limited to age 4 years - through 5th grade (friends and family members are invited! :) ). The cost is $10 per child and dinner (pizza) and activities are provided. This is a great time for you to have a date night and your little ones to get out and have fun with their friends. There will be an email going out with more information, the first movie night will be Friday, October 19th.
Please let me know if you have any questions! We are looking forward to a great month!
God bless,
Kim
