WSD Federal Programs Evaluation
Dr. Keri Skeeters, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, presented an update on WSD federal program evaluation and the use of Title I-IV funds.

North Point High School FACS Teacher Lori Krug won the 2022 Missouri Educators of Family and Consumer Science and Human Services (MoEFCS) Teacher of the Year Award. Read more.
Executive Director of Administrative Services
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Ben Hebisen as the executive director of administrative services, effective July 1, 2022.
Dr. Hebisen currently serves the WSD as the director of alternative and adaptive learning — a role he has held for the past six years. Prior to becoming a director, he served as an activities director, assistant principal, and social studies teacher in the District for a total of 23 years of service to the WSD.
Frontier Middle School Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Amber Houdei as an assistant principal at Frontier Middle School, effective July 1, 2022.
Houdei is currently serving as an administrative intern in the Fort Zumwalt School District. Prior to being hired as an administrative intern, she was a special education and general education teacher in the Fort Zumwalt School District for five years.
Frontier Middle School Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Adam Bender as an assistant principal at Frontier Middle School, effective July 1, 2022.
Bender is currently a teacher at Liberty High School. Prior to joining the WSD, he taught for ten years in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Bender is heavily involved in student committees that contribute to culture and leadership in the buildings in which he has worked.
Journey Elementary Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Liz Herbert as an assistant principal at Journey Elementary, effective July 1, 2022.
Herbert is currently a fifth-grade teacher at Prairie View Elementary. She serves as the department head and the fifth-grade camp director. She also leads the fifth-grade student ambassadors group with her fellow fifth-grade teachers and is a member of the PBIS Tier 2 team. Prior to joining the WSD, Liz was a teacher in the Lincoln County R-III School District for nine years. She started her career in education as a paraprofessional at Winfield Middle School.
Boone Trail Elementary Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Theresa Olson as an assistant principal at Boone Trail Elementary, effective July 1, 2022.
Heritage Primary Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Beth Kennedy as an Assistant Principal at Heritage Primary, effective July 1, 2022.
Kennedy currently serves as a literacy coach at Heritage Primary, where she has been since 2020. Prior to joining the WSD, Beth was a third and fifth-grade teacher in the Lindbergh School District for eight years. She was a second-grade teacher at Rohan Woods School for six years. She started her career teaching first, fourth, and fifth grades in the Mehlville School District.
Liberty High School Administrative Intern
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Stan Schumacher as an administrative intern at Liberty High School, effective July 1, 2022.
Schumacher currently serves as a special education teacher at Liberty High School, where he has served for seven years. Prior to joining Liberty, he was a special education teacher at Timberland High School and a paraprofessional at Orchard Farm High School.
North Point High School Administrative Intern
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of James Hieger as an administrative intern at North Point High School, effective July 1, 2022.
Hieger currently serves as a special education teacher at North Point High School. He has been a special education teacher in the WSD since 2020. Prior to joining the District, Hieger was a principal for six years at Special School District (SSD), where he supervised the Career and Technical Education programs at North Technical High School. Additionally, he has served as an assistant principal for six years, and an area coordinator and teacher for nine years at SSD.
