COMPUTERS R Us
Welcome to our company
What is a Computer?
A computer is made up of many different bits of tech but the actual tech that allows you to save software and use search engines is called the CPU- central processing unit. The CPU works by making calculations judging on what software you have written into the computer, basically when you want the computer to do something eg: search something on Google, the CPU collects the software you have written then performs the task you have asked the computer to do.
What is a monitor?
A monitor is a device that allows you to display images on your computers. They are very useful as they can display anything from a slide show to showing family and friends countless pictures of a great time. These monitors are made up of tiny little dots known as pixels. The more pixels on the output, the monitor, the better the display of the picture.
Hard Drive
A hard drive is a device that allows you to save information on your computer. It uses magnetism to collect the faint magnetic pulses that a computer sends out when it saves something.
Alan Turing
Alan Shearing worked with computers, and influenced the world of technology with what he did for the time at which he did it. Alan Shearing made a device in WW2 (called the Enigma) that allowed the British to crack the codes that the Germans were sending out.
What are inputs and outputs?
Inputs and outputs are two words that do the opposite job in a computer. The input receives the information a computer has been sent and an output sends out information to other computers.
What is touch screen?
Touch screen allows you to use a computer with your fingers, and zoom in and out of web pages.
