Firemen As Role Models

Firemen as Role Modesl (F.A.R.M.) is a program that continues to grow within GISD. Twice a month, the Gainesville Fire Department visits our Edison and Chalmers campuses and spends two hours with our students. Each fireman has one young man they spend time with throughout the course of the year, visiting with them each time they come to campus. They serve as role models for these students, working with them in class, and serve as a positive male figure. Althought the program has been successful at Edison for several years, this is the first year to also bring the program to Chalmers students.
