The Scientific Method
1. State the Problem
The first step is to recognize the problem. You need to understand what we already know about the situation.
2. Make Observations
To be able to come to a conclusion, you need to make observations. Basically what that means, is to state what you know or see what is occurring. You must do this or else you will be completely guessing on inferences.
3. Make an Inference
An inference is a conclusion about our observations; its to infer. You use your observations and background knowledge to make inferences. Before this step, you must make observations or else your inferences will be complete guesses and they won't help much at all.
