Beauty Pressure
Dove Onslaught(er)
2. Brainstorming
Using this Padlet link - https://padlet.com/soni_gill/media - work with your partner to add as many media forms examples as you can think of. Be careful not to repeat what others have added to the common wall.
After a few minutes, the whole group will take some time to sort the media text forms.
3. Creation / Collaboration Task
With a partner, pick one of the messages listed below. There are three choices. Your task is to create a plan and/or mock-up design for how you are going to communicate your message to the indicated audience. That is, you need to choose the best medium to communicate your message to the intended audience. Be prepared to share why you chose the medium you did.
Message: "Water is crucial to life on Earth."
Audience: Every person in Canada
Message: "Think before you post!"
Audience: Every student in a K-8 public school
Message: "Elect _________ for Mayer!"
Audience: Every person in a town or city
4. Reflection / Consolidation
Reflect with your partner on the selection process from #3 and develop criteria for
- choosing an appropriate medium for your message
- for choosing an appropriate message for the medium
Add your criteria to this Padlet: http://padlet.com/soni_gill/criteria
For example, criteria could be something like:
- Does the medium used match the audeince? (i.e., do you understand your audience and how they get their information?)
