Fall Band Concert
After almost a 2 year hiatus, we are happy to invite you to our Annual Fall Band Concert on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 7:00 in the ADL Gym.
This concert will feature both the 6th grade and 7th/8th grade Concert Bands, The ADL Jazz Band, and The ADL Rock Band.
Masks are required by all students and spectators during the performance regardless of individual vaccination status. The performance will also be live streamed for anyone not able to attend.

Winter Sports
We begin on Monday 11/15 with tryouts for basketball. We are still working on our cheerleading practice schedule. Here is the schedule for the week of 11/15.
Thursday: Girls 3:30-5:00 ---- Boys 5:00-6:30
Friday: Boys 3:30-5:00 ---- Girls 5:00-6:30
Lastly, in order to participate in a winter sport, students will need to sign up. The sign up form can be found here, https://forms.gle/gy2PWQjvWfXgnFbA6
as well as on the ADL athletic website.
ADL Clubs
- Art Club will be meeting on Fridays from 3:15-4:30 in the art room.
- D&D club will be meeting on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 in room C10.
- Math Counts will be meeting on Mondays from 3:20 to 4:00 in room B16.
- Pride Club will be meeting on Fridays from 3:15-4:00 in the Band Room.
- Skull and Cross Stitch Club will be meeting on Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 in the art room.
- Yearbook Club will be meeting on Mondays from 3:30-4:30 in the conference room.
- Want to learn more about Geography- both locally, state, nationally and around the world? Then attend the ADL Geo Bee Club which starts up on Mondays in January from 3:15-4 p.m. The top 6 students who attend this weekly club will also get a chance to represent ADL in the yearly VPA Middle School Geo Bee competitions in April 2022. Mr. Gustafson will be the advisor of this club

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES AND SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING AND WELLNESS HAPPENINGS
John Halligan, “Ryan’s Story” Presentation Recording
Motivational Speaker and Author, John Halligan, shared his presentation, “Ryan’s Story,” with EWSD families and community members on the evening of October 19, 2021. The presentation, which provides practical tips pertaining to cyberbullying and suicide prevention, is geared toward parents/guardians of children who use or who will be starting to use social media, etc.
The hour-long recording of the presentation for parents/guardians can be viewed here.
Students at the EWSD middle schools and high school will have the opportunity to participate in a viewing and reflection exercise related to Mr. Halligan’s student presentation in the coming weeks.
Special Education Parent Advisory Council Session Recording & Application:
An information meeting for the EWSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) took place on October 21, 2021. You may view the slides from the presentation on the newly posted SEPAC webpage.
An application to be part of the SEPAC is also now available! Teachers, staff, parents, students, and community members are encouraged to submit an application. Applications are due by December 1.

Bolton Registration Open
This long-standing program provides transportation to Bolton Valley and facilitates optional rental and lessons for all abilities. Upon dismissal, your student will gather their equipment, change, and check in with the volunteer chaperones prior to getting on the bus.

Cancelation Deadline: 01/04/22
Cancelation Policy:
All registration cancelations are subject to a $20 cancelation fee.
Each session is 4 weeks long. There is no makeup date.
All cancelations will be made by 9 am the day of the program
Cancelations will occur if:
Temperatures/wind chill is unsafe.
Any other unforeseen circumstances
In the instance of a cancelation participants will receive (according to their selected package):
Transportation credit from Essex Parks and Recreation
4 hour weekday (non-holiday week) junior lift ticket
Equipment rental voucher
Bus Ride:
We are currently limiting the bus capacity to 34 participants and 2 chaperones per bus.
In order to cover transportation costs, each bus requires a 28 participant enrollment minimum.
Facial coverings must be worn at all times.
Participants will follow all guidelines presented by Premier Coach
At Bolton:
There are no indoor capacity restrictions however, groups are no longer designated indoor space, only outdoor.
Students may go indoors to warm up, use the bathroom and eat
Food/Dining:
All belongings must stay on the bus except for lunch boxes and money for dinner.
The cafeteria inside the lodge will re-open this year. The deli will also be open.
Sandwiches/lunch box-style meals are available for pre-order at the Deli.
Financial:
We regret increasing the cost of this program this year, however, we chose to hire Premier buses in order to keep the program running at the same time and in the same manner as years past.

A fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, congestion or runny nose, sore throat, the new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
Had close contact in the last 14 days with a person confirmed to have COVID-19 or have recently traveled to counties requiring quarantine compliance.
Families Eligible for Monthly Internet Service Discount
Eligibility for Monthly Internet Service Discount
Households that are eligible for free or reduced meals under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP) during the 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and/or the 2021-2022 school year are eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program). The EBB Program is a temporary federal program to help eligible households pay for internet service during the pandemic. The EBB Program provides a monthly discount of not more than $50 per month on broadband service and associated equipment (for example, a modem) for eligible households and not more than $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. If the participating household chooses an eligible plan that costs $50/month or less, the household will receive that service for free, at least until the EBB Program ends.

Households may continue to submit free and reduced meal applications to become eligible for this benefit throughout the school year. Applications can be submitted online at MySchoolApps.com or paper applications can be found on our Child Nutrition website.
