The Mustang Chronicle!
October 4, 2020
A Note from Principal Lewis
By now you have received a survey from CVUSD, regarding your preference for your child, if in-person instruction resumes in the near future. This is an information gathering survey at this time. Surveys are due by tonight, so please complete it for each CVUSD student, so our District has an idea about what you might consider. Below is a video explaining general guidelines about what to expect when school reopens in CVUSD, based on guidelines from Ventura County Office of Education and Ventura County Health Department. Prior to the reopening of school, more site-specific information will be communicated.
Enclosed in this newsletter is also the Parent Teacher Conference Schedule. Teachers are in the process of contacting parents regarding setting up parent conference dates and times. Please direct questions about this to your child's teacher.
There are a lot of important dates and information enclosed today, so thank you for taking time to read through our weekly newsletter, so you stay informed about our school events!
Proud to be part of our Maple Mustang Family!

CVUSD Focus on the ARTS ( FOTA)
We are excited to share that our 20-21 CVUSD Focus on the Arts (FOTA) program is ready to begin this week thanks to the donations of TOArts and Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF), our generous sponsors. Each week, your children will do an art lesson during Reinforcement Time on Mondays. Focus on the Arts (FOTA) will provide WEEKLY video art lessons for Reinforcement Time with common content for grades TK-5 October-May. Siblings and families can create these projects together and work at your own pace pausing the video or revisiting as needed. We will have ways to share in class and as a school at different times during the year. Students receive their needed materials for the scheduled lessons at Materials Pick-Ups (Sept-Oct-Dec-Feb-Apr) that you need to keep in a safe place until the weekly lesson.
Please click and read the October ArtScape Newsletter. It has lesson links available, and your child’s teacher will also share the weekly lesson link through their classroom channels.
Thank you to TOArts AccessArts and the Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF) for their grants to fund the lessons and materials for this program!
Safe apart & connected by ART!
