Students MAY WEAR jeans!
Principal's Corner
Week 2 was a huge success! I am so proud of the progress we are making here! Your students are rising to the challenge of being THE BEST! I couldn't be more proud of them! I am enjoying getting in classrooms, meeting them and learning their names. It's a pretty big feat but my goal is to learn all of them! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
We will be planning some activities in the next few weeks. T-shirts are being ordered, we are planning field trips and working hard. Also- please be on the look-out for PTA information coming in the next 2 weeks! We will also be having Meet and Greet with Admin/TITLE 1/Parent Informaton Night coming on September 8! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Dress Code
Students may wear jeans on Friday with a Freeman t-shirt. We are in the process of ordering those student shirts. While we wait, they may wear a dress code polo shirt in place of a Freeman t-shirt.
Thank you for your help with this! We will get those students shirts ASAP!

Information for Arrival and DIsmissal can be found here.
The front door will open at 7:30 a.m. There will not be any staff members to supervise students that arrive before 7:30 a.m.
Students in PK-1st grade will go to the Library and students in 2nd-3rd grade will go to the Computer Lab until 7:50 a.m. and 4th-5th will sit outside their classrooms.
Teachers will pick-up their class from the above locations at 7:50 a.m.
Beginning 2nd day, parents must use drop off. They will not be able to enter the school building. We will have teachers throughout the hallways assisting students to their classrooms.
If you need to come into the building for business in the office, please use a parking spot so that the drop off lanes can run smoothly.
Pick-up Cards
You were given two pick-up cards that will have your child and teacher’s name on them at Meet-the-Teacher night. The card MUST be presented at dismissal to pick up your child. Please place the pick-up card on the dashboard in the right-side windshield of your car. DO NOT REMOVE the card until your child is inside the car. We highly recommend taking a photo of your card in case you misplace it.
If you do not have your pick-up card, please come on Monday during the day to pick it up at the front office or you will be asked to park during dismissal time and present an official government photo identification to the office staff.
If you need to send someone different to pick up your child, please call the office before 3:00 p.m. to let us know who will pick him or her up. If they do not have a pick-up card, please tell the person picking up your child that he or she must present an official government photo identification to the office staff or you may send them a photo of the pick up card. NO Exceptions! Safety is our priority.

The key to a successful dismissal is patience and courtesy – be the person you want your child to be! We appreciate your patience!
Back to School Forms
The “Back to School” forms which were called Registration Forms in the Skyward family access have been changed. The forms are located in your Skyward family account and are under the tab labeled as “Verify Student Information.”
Please complete these forms as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for updating all of your information, including email changes for all guardians and emergency contacts.
Economic Survey
Normally, a student’s economic status is determined by the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) application. GISD Student Nutrition Services (SNS) will continue with the same designated CEP campuses as in the past. The district has developed an economic survey form that is included in the back-to-school forms. We are asking all parents to complete the survey this year so that we may determine their economic status. Their responses affect the district’s federal funding and our campus and district accountability ratings. Your assistance in completing the survey is critical to our collective success. A copy of the economic survey was shared with you at Meet the Teacher Night and we will also send more copies home this week.
